Butterfly Spirit — a Story of Grand Hotel Djibloho
The Grand Hotel Djibloho is a well-known place, yet its history remains a mystery to many. The hotel shares a magical bond with butterflies, whose wings embellish the hotel’s emblem. Once, the hotel grounds were a lush haven teeming with these enchanting creatures and their essence still lingers on the hotel walls, capturing the unique beauty of this enchanting location. Legend tells of a sanctuary on the very land where the hotel stands, a sanctuary brimming with mystical butterflies.
In 2008, the Italian company Piccini’s builders arrived to construct the Grand Hotel Djibloho. During the construction, a remarkable tale unfolded pitting humans against butterflies. The butterflies known for their creativity and sensitivity, concocted a potion to transform one of their own into a human, enabling them to blend in with the human workers. This transformed butterfly lived as a human, falling in love with a builder from the Piccini company. Tragically, she passed away during childbirth.
From her birth, a human girl with butterfly wings emerged, destined to bridge the gap between humans and butterflies and restore peace to the sanctuary after enduring many conflicts and strife. Though this narrative is born from our imagination and creativity, it is rooted in the hotel’s past as a verdant sanctuary hosting a multitude of butterflies in various shapes and sizes, whose presence still adorns the hotel walls.
This story aims to instil the spirit of butterflies in children’s minds through the Easter and summer camp programs held annually at the hotel. The values embodied by the butterfly spirit include courage, freedom, adventure, transformation, growth, life, rebirth, change, hope, connection, and nature’s beauty.
